Since October 2024, VMC Charity has been constructing a hospital on the land it acquired in 2022. This urgent project was launched in response to the soaring cost of rent and the increasing number of refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo seeking asylum in Uganda. Our goal is to provide essential healthcare services to both the local impoverished communities and the vulnerable refugee population.

Thanks to the generosity of friends, companies, and well-wishers from around the world, we have raised UGX 191,000,000 (approximately £47,000) in cash and vital building materials, including bricks, sand, stones, and timber. These contributions have brought us close to completing the ground floor, as shown in the pictures above. We have also secured funding for windows and doors, which are currently being crafted at welding workshops.

However, we still urgently need £16,000 to complete the next critical phase, which includes:

• Plastering walls
• Painting
• Floor tiling
• Water installation
• Electrical fittings

Without these final touches, we cannot fully open the hospital and begin delivering life-saving care.
