Victorious Medical Centre (VMC), a private not-for-profit (PNFP) community-based organization, was established in May 2019. In 2022, it achieved official registration as a local charity organization, dedicated to providing essential medical treatment services and outreach programs.

VMC operates within the greater Kayonza area in Kanungu District, serving communities in proximity to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Additionally, it extends its services to refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), situated just 1km from the Congo and Uganda border.

Through our dedicated team and comprehensive outreach programs, VMC strives to bridge healthcare gaps, catering to the needs of local communities and extending a compassionate hand to the refugees fleeing the turmoil in the DRC.

VMC has a 15 bed capacity for admissions and offering a range of services like outpatient, inpatient, maternal and child health, family planning and immunization, laboratory, imaging and ultrasound services, dental services, labor ward and maternity, theater services,community outreach programs , mental health, counseling and guidance especially for people living with HIV AIDS infection, alcohol and other drugs addicts .We see monthly average 300 clients both inpatient and out patients, 20% get admissions,and 60% of these clients are refugees and neighbors from DRC .

As most of our clients have no stable sources of income , have not gotten chance to education and no stable jobs, others are homeless like refugees etc

COMMUNITY SENSITIZATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS

VMC has conducted several outreach programs about sanitation and personal hygiene to eradicate most of the hygiene related avoidable diseases , like typhoid, cholera, dysentery

Sensitization about immunization of the childhood immunizable diseases, and immunization of young women and girls against HPV that causes most cases of Cancer of the cervix,
Nutritional sensitization to avoid most of the malnutrition cases and some of the non communicable diseases like hypertension and diabetes and so many others.
